Wow! My Very First Blog Entry!

I finally did it!  I started a blog!  I have been thinking about starting one for a while now, but I must admit, the whole thing made me a bit nervous as I have never done anything like this before.  So many "what if's" kept popping into my head..  IE:  "What if I can't figure out how to set everything up?" "What if I don't have time to keep it up to date?" Etc., etc.   Well, after much thought, deliberation, and much encouragement form my DH Greg, I took the plunge and here I am.  I know it will take me a little time to figure it all out, so I hope you will bear with me on this learning journey.  I have been so lucky to receive so much creative inspiration from some fabulously talented ladies that you can see on my"Favorite Inspiration Blogs" list.  So Here's hoping this blog will be a fun way to share ideas, projects & inspiration with my fellow crafters, stampers & card makers.

Okay! Now to post a  card.

I made this cheerful little card for a one of my very dear friend's Birthday.  She loves bright cheery colors, especially purple!
I stamped my Impression Obsession image on to Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock, using Memento Tuxedo Black and then embossed it with Stampendous Midnight Black embossing powder.  I colored it up with Art markers & Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils to add a little more shading and definition to the pitcher. The shading around my image was actually done with Copics, and I used my Score Pal to emboss the edges, then matted it up on some deep purple card stock from my stash. I used Hero Arts "Happy Definition " Cling  to stamp one panel of the card itself, with Distress Ink before putting the whole thing together and just added a bit of ribbon and a small button to finish it off.

Stamps: Impression Obsession, Hero Arts Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink Paper: Flourishes Classic Ivory, Deep purple card stock, Hampton Arts  Other: Copics, Art markers, Prismacolor watercolor pencils, ribbon from Michaels, button from Basic Grey.
