The question for June is:
What's on your summer reading list? Are you a big reader or not? If you are, what books have you read lately that you would recommend? Do you have a favorite author or genre? How about something for sitting out by the pool, or the beach, or even just the backyard...some nice light summer reading?
Do you use fancy bookmarks or do you dog-ear your pages? Or, do you use an e-reader? Everyone can use bookmarks and they make great favors and gifts. Let's see a little inspiration!
OMGoodness what a Super question! 8-) Yes!! I LOVE to read, lol The current book I'm reading is 'The Game of Thrones', and yes, I would Highly recommend it! 8-) I'm not sure if I have a favorite Genre, as I like a variety, mystery, fantasy, comedy, historical, metaphysical, romance, and those that combine all of the above are my Favorites! lol ;-) I do have some Favorite Authors though.. Diana Gabaldon is probably my ALL time Favorite, but I do also Love Katherine Howe, Janet Evanovich, Nora Roberts, Florence Scovel Shinn, Katherine Neville, & J.R.R. Tolkein too... Just to name a few...;-)
Being that I seem to always have more than one book going at the same time, lol I am Always in need of bookmarks, and already have several, though none that I have made myself believe it or not lol... So for my project today, I thought I'd try my hand at some magnetic bookmarks, cause they are one of my favorites bookmark styles, & I'll very likely keep one for myself and give the other two away to a couple of my Fellow Book Loving Buddies.. 8-)
These came together pretty quickly and were lots of fun to make too! I started off with TE's Banner Stacklet's 2 for my Bookmark bases. I just folded my CS in half and tucked them just below the top of the die before cutting so my bookmark bases tops would be folded like a really skinny card 8-)... And I topped them with Pretty Layered Roses created with TE's Rosy Posy Stamp set...
I stamped my Sweet Rose toppers with Colorbox's Pink Pastel, Tangerine, & Yellow Ochre onto Choice Snow White CS, added a touch of shading with my trusty Copics and cut them out with TE's Rosy Posey Dies. I popped them up with a bit of foam tape, added some Rosy Posey Leaf die cuts and adhered them to my Bookmark Bases. My mats and BG layers were created with TE's Beautiful June KI Kit. And to finish up my fun little Bookmarks, I just stamped my Vintage Dreamer sentiments with Pumice Distress Ink onto layered TE Band-It die cuts and added cut strips of an adhesive magnet sheet... Easy peasy, huh?... 8-)
Be sure to stop by and check out what the rest of the Baker's Dozen has
whipped up for you today..
