Hi all! Hope you've been having a Super weekend so far! ;-) Well I thought I'd pop in real quick today to share my latest Taylored Expressions creation featuring TE's Lasting Impressions Care & Comfort Stamp set. Some of the Hardest cards we Crafty People have need to make are Sympathy cards... And let me tell you, I dread the need of these cards, but have learned thru the years that it's better to have couple on hand than have to attempt to rush & make one at the last minute, when your heart may be a bit heavy... So, that being said, I was Truly Grateful for this Gem of a stamp set with it's many Wonderfully Supportive & Heartfelt sentiments...
A while back our very own Taylor VanBruggen shared her Beautiful Easter cards HERE that feature a Super fun Reverse Masking technique she created with a couple of the Sweet Silhouette Stems Dies & the Posh Posies Stamp set.. I had been wanting to give her fun technique a whirl for a while now, and thought these Sweet flowers would make a really Lovely focal image for my CAS cards today...
Following Taylor's Fab how to's, I arranged the two stems and die cut them in order to use the reverse cutout as a mask. With the mask in place I stamped the dandelion image from TE's Posh Posies Stamp set inside the flowers in Wild Honey Distress ink. Then with the mask still in place I used a sponge dauber to sponge Yellow Ochre Colorbox ink inside the flowers & sponged the stems with Olive Pastel Colorbox ink. I stamped my Care & Comfort Sentiment directly onto my Focal image panel with Memento Rich Cocoa and added a touch of shading with Wild Honey Distress ink to all my edges.. My Mats & BG Layers were created with Choice Buttercream CS, Bazzill CS and dp's from MME's Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks 6x6 collection..
For my Lavender Version, I did everything just the same, but used Dusty Concord Distress ink & Grape Slushy Colorbox ink for my flowers. I chose a different Care & Comfort Sentiment, stamped with Dusty Concord Distress Ink that I also used for shading all my edges as well. my Mats & BG layers were also created with MME's Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks 6x6 collection but with Heidi Bazzil CS instead...8-)
Here are the items I used for my projects today...
Hope you all have a Fantastic day & Thanks so much for dropping by... 8-)
They're beautiful! I always find it hard to make sympathy cards, so mostly I buy them. Have a nice sunday, Colinda

ReplyDeleteOOH! I LOVE that technique and how these two Beauties turned out! You are so right about having some on hand and not having to make them when you are sad! GORGEOUS, Shannon!
ReplyDeleteSympathy cards are so hard for me but I really get inspiration from these, Shannon! Obviously, I adore the purple one most, but love the sentiments on each one of them. Hugs. NC
ReplyDeleteAww these are gorgeous and so perfect for Sympathy cards Shannon!! I love the colours and the sentiments are beautiful… I totally agree… better to have them ready to hand than have to make them at last minute! I must make a few more....

ReplyDeleteVery pretty sympathy cards Shannon. The colors are just perfect and I love those beautiful silhouette flowers.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers and colors are so pretty. I agree, sympathy cards can be a challenge, but yours are simply pleasant and caring.
ReplyDeleteWay to get more mileage from a stamp set! They turned out very nice. I'm always on the lookout for good sympathy sentiments. It's hard to find the right words and, yes, these are good cards to have on hand. I rarely feel like sitting down and stamping a card when I'm reeling from some bad news.
ReplyDeleteLove how you used this technique, Shannon! The colors are gorgeous and perfect as sympathy cards. Just beautiful! Hugs!
