The question for December is:
Inpsiration is all around us. Many of us learned to stamp by CASEing other stampers we admired. (CASE = Copy and Share Everything) We want everyone to know that, not only is CASEing perfectly OK, it's actually pretty flattering and a lot of fun! And it can be especially helpful in the midst of the busy holiday season when it's hard to think straight! So take some inspiration from your fellow Baker's Dozen Teammates, and show us how you can turn any great inspiration into a fabulous holiday card!
OMGoodness was this ever a Fun Challenge!! 8-) I got to CASE the Fabulously talented Sankari Wegman, and let me tell you I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull it off! She's got some serious big shoes to fill, lol 8-) And I Absolutely ADORE her Aazing Whimsical style! I kind of did a combination of a CASE of Sankari's Darling card HERE and just keying in on some of her Signautre design elements and style. 8-) I kept the Fun layered Scallops though my scallops are a bit smaller than Sankari's. And of course my main image is different as well as the dies I used to cut it out and the Dp's as well, but you can still see a lot of Sankari's style and signature elements and layout too. I also learned I need more practice with liquid pearls! lol How do you get your little pearl dots and dashes So Perfect Miss Sankari!!? 8-) Oh well, I did my best! 8-)
Here's a close up shot of my main image panel, by this time I was starting to do a little bit better with the liquid pearls. lol 8-)
I stamped my Darling Joy ALC image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream and colored it up with my Trusty Copics. I cut it out & matted it up with the help of TE's Labels Stacklets 1 Dies, added a touch of shading with Antique Linen, & Vintage Photo Distress inks and popped it up with a bit of foam tape. My Mats and BG layers were created with Hillary Bazzill CS, Cherry Cobbler CS and Simple Stories' Darling Handmade Holiday 6x6 Collection. To finish it all up I added some Fun layered TE Medium Scallop Border Die cuts, some Pretty Red Glimmer Ribbon and lots of little dots and dashes of liquid pearls.. 8-)
It was a lot of fun CASING Miss Sankari's Awesome Card using a different theme & elements and still achieved a similar look! So even if you don't have the same exact elements of a project you want to CASE, you can still use your creativity and come up with something similar! I always head over to the TE Gallery for some Fabulous inspiration whenever I get stuck...I Love that I always come away with a ton of new ideas and fresh motivation to get going on my next project! 8-)
The Baker's Dozen has Lots more goodies for you this morning, so hop on over and see...8-)

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, Shannon! And oh so Sankari-ish! I love that you did her signature pearly dots. And I too have no idea how she gets them so small and so perfectly round and spaced out! I guess that's why it's her style! So love your CASE! :)
ReplyDeleteDarling as ever!
ReplyDeleteA really darling card, Shannon. Such pretty traditional colors. I especially like the glimmer ribbon. Doesn't it have magnificent texture? Was it easy to use, or is it stiff like grosgrain ribbon? Sweet card!
